Evie Launcher update adds Google Feed-like news feed and customizable gestures

  • The popular Evie Launcher has released a new update that includes the new Evie Feed.
  • This is an Google Feed-like news feed that's based on the owner's previous actions.
  • The update also adds customizable gestures and a way to get rid of its search bar.

Evie Launcher released a major 2.0 update over a year ago, but Android Central reports that the popular launcher has received nearly a million new users since the Google Now Launcher was retired in May. Now Evie Launcher has released a new update that has some cool features for people who miss using Google's launcher.

One of them is Evie Feed, a news feed similar to Google Feed. The feed uses AI to figure out which news topics might interest you the most, and you can also personalize the feed by going into its settings and telling which news sources you want to follow.

Yet another new feature in Evie Launcher is the addition of customizable gestures. The settings now allow you to set up specific gestures to launch apps and other functions. There are eight gestures to choose from, and you can tie each one with one of six shortcuts. Finally, you can go into settings and get rid of Evie Launcher's search bar if you want to keep your home screen as uncluttered as possible.

What do you think of the new features in the latest Evie Launcher release?
