Essential Phone on sale for Prime Day for $250, Ocean Depths model being given away

The Essential Phone has been a bit of a controversy, launching at $700 with a weak camera and some serious software bugs. Nonetheless the specs were top of the line and the materials were ridiculously nice; a ceramic back and titanium frame made for a hefty, unbelievably premium device. We could also blame Essential for introducing the notch, though the device's bezels are still thinner than most devices on the market.

It's been almost a year since release, and the device has seen a transformation and some serious support. Not only has the camera been significantly improved, the Essential Phone has received security patches at the same time as Pixel devices on a consistent bases. It even has an Android P beta that's being updated on the same day as the betas on the Pixel devices.

Despite the launch hiccups, it's a great time to pick up an Essential Phone. The device is being discounted to only $250 for Amazon Prime Day. $250 gets you last year's top end specs and premium materials along with the latest version of Android, so it's a fantastic deal! Pick one up and immediately flash the Android P Beta, as it's perfectly stable.

Essential is also giving away two devices, and they happen to be the long sold out limited edition Ocean Depths model. With an ocean green back and gold titanium and accents, it's a really sexy color. Retweet Essential's tweet to be entered!
