Instagram is testing more changes to your feed, will hide older posts from the main screen
Instagram loves to change up your feed for content, and not always for the best. It's happening again, too, with the app testing out a new setup for all of the pictures and videos that you have and haven't seen.
This test splits your app into two tabs: the recommended feed, which is what you're used to seeing now, and an older tab for stuff that you've already browsed through in the app.
If your account is part of this test, that second tab will show up once you scroll far enough back in your feed to get the "You're all caught up" message. This pops up the second tab and will hide previously seen content from the first feed, so you'll have to check that second tab to get back to any older images.
It's a small change, but another small nudge towards trying to get Instagram users to see more new, recommended content, which also means users will see more ads and possibly follow more accounts. Monetizing social media can be tricky, so it's fairly obvious what Instagram/Facebook is going for.
If your device is part of this new test, drop a comment and let us know what your thoughts are. Is it another painful change that no one asked for, or a way to keep your feed fresh and exciting?
