A plastic Google Pixel 3 Lite prototype with a headphone jack leaks
There's been speculation that a budget version of the Google Pixel 3 could emerge before the end of the year, but no announcement was made in October when the regular Pixel 3 phones launched. However, pictures and specs of what appears to be a Pixel 3 Lite prototype have just emerged, featuring a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and Snapdragon 670. Everything comes from an anonymous source that provided the information to Rozetked (Rozetked leaked the Pixel 3 XL, giant notch and all, earlier this year). Given the accuracy of the Pixel 3 XL leaks, this prototype could be the real deal.
The overall device is similar to the Pixel 3, but swaps premium glass for plastic and adds a headphone jack, which hasn't been in any of the other Pixel phones. Leaked specs include:
5.56-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,220 x 1,080.
Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670
Adreno 615 GPU
4GB of RAM
32GB of internal storage
2,915mAh battery
12MP rear camera / 8MP front-facing camera
According to the anonymous source, who claims to have used the prototype for awhile, the camera is the same as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, so you'd be getting one of the major benefits of the flagships in a cheaper, plastic package (with lighter specs). If this is real and priced at around $450, we could have a sleeper hit on our hands.
