Samsung's Black Friday sale is packed with some of our favorite devices

Usually on Black Friday, we're looking at major retailers like Walmart and Best Buy for the best deals. We're braving the crowds, the noise, and the slow-loading websites on the off chance that we'll save a ton of money in the process. So small, individual companies don't often have enough deals to warrant our attention. Samsung is no small company, though, and have a little bit of everything we usually want to see on Black Friday. This year's sale covers smartwatches, some of the market's best internal SSDs, and Android's best smartphones. What will you be spamming your refresh button for?

Deals worth considering

Samsung 860 EVO solid state drives: as low as $75

When it comes to internal PC components, solid state drives are one of the few that have actually been dropping in price all year. When we first reported on the 860 EVO in January, the 500GB was going for $170. When Samsung's Black Friday deals go live, you'll be able to snag one for just $74.99. Outside of unusual deals like eBay's site-wide sales, that's the best we have ever seen. You'll also be able to get the other capacities on sale. Get the 250GB version for $57.99, the 1TB for $229.99, and the 2TB for $299.99.

Galaxy Watch 42mm: $259.99

We really like Samsung's Galaxy Watch. It got a 4 out of 5 in our review, and we called it the "do-everything" smartwatch for Android users. It has a lot of positives going for it, and one big one is this sale for $259.99. That's $20 better than a recent Amazon sale and a match for what Best Buy plans to do for the big day. This is just another option bringing a great watch down to one of its best prices ever.

Galaxy S9 and S9+ 64GB unlocked smartphones: $519.99 and $639.99 respectively

The Galaxy S9 needs no introduction. It's one of the best Android phones of 2018, and if you haven't upgraded to it yet it's probably because you're waiting for Black Friday price drops. Well, Samsung's got you covered with this one. The $519.99 deal on the regular S9 unlocked is better than any direct price we've seen this year. You can save some money on the upfront cost, too, by going with a specific carrier. Samsung's Black Friday deal on the Verizon version of the S9 drops it as low as $319.99

Samsung currently has free shipping on all orders, and that will continue through the Black Friday sales.

Deals worth ignoring

Samsung's 2018 4K TVs fell short this year compared to other models. You'll still save some money getting the 65-inch NU6900 for $649.99 instead of $750, but if you're looking to buy a TV on Black Friday, why waste time with mediocrity?

Also, while we love the deals on the 860 EVO, the 970 EVO Pro for $379.99 is forgettable. It starts out with too much power for the average consumer and ends with charging too much even when it's on sale. If you really want an internal NVMe M.2 SSD, go with the regular 970 EVO, which is on sale for $117 on Amazon right now.
