Galaxy A70s set to launch this month with a 64-megapixel rear camera

Samsung has been refreshing many of its budget and mid-range devices by launching upgraded 's' variants in recent months. The Galaxy A20, A30, A50, M30, and a few other devices have already undergone this treatment. It appears the Galaxy A70 is next in line as, according to an IANS report, the Korean company is supposedly planning to launch the Galaxy A70s in India later this month.

The A70s will reportedly feature a 64-megapixel rear camera, making it the first Galaxy device to breach the 48-megapixel mark. Though the report doesn't mention the exact sensor, it could be the ISOCELL Bright GW1 image sensor the Samsung unveiled in May this year. The GW1 sensor was initially rumored to make its debut on a Galaxy device, but the bragging rights eventually went to Realme and Redmi devices instead.

The Galaxy A70s will come in two variants and sport the same design language as the A30s and the A50s, the report says. Pricing is pegged around Rs. 30,000, which seems plausible given that the A70 costs Rs. 29,000. This will make the A70s the second most expensive offering in the Galaxy A series behind the A80.

There haven't been any major leaks about the Galaxy A70s so far. A Geekbench listing pointed to a Snapdragon 675 SoC and 6GB of RAM onboard, but benchmark results can be and inaccurate or misleading.
