Samsung announced today that it successfully showcased 5G Guaranteed Latency (GLA) as an end-to-end network slice with Deutsche Telekom at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona. GLA is a key differentiator which sets 5G technology apart from 4G. It’s believed to be very critical for the 5G era as it allows for latency control as per the requirements of specific use cases. The live demonstration was conducted at Deutsche Telekom’s booth in which two robotic arms were connected to Samsung’s 5G radio system that uses GLA technology. When GLA was switched on for both robotic arms for the guarantee of low and controlled latency, they were able to successfully deliver a box from point A to B while moving in synchronous harmony within the set amount of time. Samsung has been spending a lot of money to advertise its products at the Oscars over the past few years. It has also been working with filmmaker Casey Neistat who happens to be one of the most popular YouTube content creator. The angle here appears to be an effort to make Samsung feel more relevant to the younger generation and this Oscars ad is just part of that effort. Samsung has announced that the Facebook Video application is now available to download on its 2017 QLED TVs via Smart Hub, with an expansion to all of its 2015, 2016 and other 2017 Smart TV models expected to take place in the coming weeks, reveals ZDNet . “It is a pleasure to bring the world’s social network to Samsung Smart TV users, as well as continue to see the value of Samsung Smart TV, as a platform, growing,” said Sangsook Han, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. Through the Facebook Video application for TV , users can watch videos shared by friends or Pages they follow, tune into top live videos from around the world and scroll through recommended content based on their interests, without even having to pull their phone out of their pocket.

We’ve seen a lot of leaked pictures and renders of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus over the past few weeks but it appears that a hands-on video of the two flagship smartphones has now been leaked online. The video seems to have been leaked by someone based in China and it shows us both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. It’s a short video so it doesn’t actually provide a walkthrough of the device’s features but we do get to see the Always On Display of the Galaxy S8 Plus and the home screen of the Galaxy S8. The soft keys that have replaced the physical home button are visible as well. The video doesn’t reveal anything new as far as the design of these handsets is concerned. Both have a dual-edge curved display with minimal bezels and no physical home button with the fingerprint sensor being repositioned at the back . It goes without saying that we will continue to see more leaks related to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus in the days leading up to the official launch.
