Netgear's new Arlo Ultra security camera will monitor your home in 4K

Image
Netgear has announced the Arlo Ultra, a 4K HDR wireless security camera that looks to be a serious upgrade over the Arlo Pro 2 . The biggest upgrade is in the resolution. This is Netgear's first Arlo security camera to have 4K resolution and HDR image processing. Netgear believes users will be able to use the resolution to pick up on critical details they may have otherwise missed, like license plate numbers or clothing, when identifying suspicious activity. The camera will also come with a 180-degree field of view, automatic zoom and tracking, dual microphones, and more. The Ultra finally has a spotlight integrated into it. Previously, you had to buy the Arlo Smart Home Security Light and sync it with your system. Other features include color night vision and custom activity zones you can set yourself. The two-way audio includes advanced noise cancellation to minimize background noise and allow clear, natural conversations from both sides of the camera. Use the security

DJI announces a stabilized 4K pocket camera for video on the go

Image
DJI announces a stabilized 4K pocket camera for video on the go DJI, commonly known for their high-end drones, has announced a new 3-axis stabilized 4K pocket camera, which means you'll be able to capture high quality video footage on the go without worrying about how well your phone will handle motion or if it'll die halfway through filming. This camera, called the Osmo, actually looks pretty nifty. That stabilization is probably the most interesting feature here, especially if you're trying to capture action shots or anything in motion, but it's capable of recording up to 4K resolution at 60fps. That's even more impressive when you realize that the handheld camera comes in at only about 120 grams. If you are planning on replacing your current action cam with this thing, you'll be happy to know DJI is offering some accessories for it, too. Mounts, wireless modules, and other clips and accessories are available on their website for relatively reasonable

What is Google Fast Pair?

Image
Pairing a Bluetooth device, such as headphones or a speaker, to your phone is a pretty straightforward process. If anything, it's simple. Yet, it can be tedious. Google Fast Pair makes things easier and more efficient. The Problem Many of us own multiple portable electronic devices, be it phones, tablets, and/or Chromebooks.  We log into them using our Google accounts and hop between them. At the same time, we have our favorite headphones, speakers, and Bluetooth accessories. As easy as it is to pair devices together, it can become a nuisance. Why go through the process over and over again when all you want to do is listen to a podcast or playlist? Sure, it sounds like a "first world problem" but it's a pain point whenever you buy a new phone or tablet. The Solution Google has a way to simplify connecting Bluetooth accessories to Android phones. The feature, called Fast Pair, was introduced back in 2017 and has recently been updated. VIVO NEX 2 with triple rear cameras, dual displays, and lunar ring spotted

Image
There is a video on YouTube right now that shows a mystery smartphone. There is no mention of the brand but we've got a pretty close look at the new phone. We've got information it's actually the next-gen VIVO NEX phone as suggested by leaks visualization and concept design Ben Geskin (@VenyaGeskin1) on Twitter. No further details were revealed but the smartphone boasts dual screens (front and back) and triple rear cameras. The image render is based on recent leaks that popped up earlier this week. The Vivo NEX 2 surfaced with triple cameras and a secondary screen on the rear. We find the design interesting and the images match the earlier photos showing a unique camera system. The rear has got another display while the three cameras at the back allow the selfie shooter to be eliminated. We don't see any front-facing camera here so Vivo is sticking to the new design. The secondary screen will be used to view your "selfies" that can be captured with

Why is the DJI Osmo Pocket camera making such a buzz?

Image
DJI, mainly known for making drones, caused a sensation yesterday in New York by presenting its Osmo Pocket. Forget the drones, DJI is back with a camera. In record time, this small device seems to have won the hearts of all those who were able to take it in hand. What's so special about it? Have you ever heard of OSIRIS? Choose "Yes, I have!" or "Never heard of it.". Oops! Seems like something went wrong. Reloading might help. Yes, I have! Oops! Seems like something went wrong. Reloading might help. Never heard of it. As you can see in the picture above, this camera is a (very) small camera with a handle that acts as a stabilizer. The latter - which also doubles as a short selfie stick - is associated with an interesting photo potential: its 12MP sensor records videos in 4K at 24, 25, 30, 48, 48, 50 or 60 fps. In practice, it is the same equipment as the one placed in its Mavic

Lenovo to beat Samsung to the punch? Z5s leaks show a hole in the display

Image
After his disappointment with his Z5, Lenovo seems to be on the right track to make it up to him. A first video and a teaser promotional post about Z5s have been leaked on the net and it seems that the company wants to beat on time Huawei and Samsung in presenting a device with hole in the display for the camera. Have you ever heard of OSIRIS? Choose "Yes, I have!" or "Never heard of it.". Oops! Seems like something went wrong. Reloading might help. Yes, I have! Oops! Seems like something went wrong. Reloading might help. Never heard of it. Shortcuts: Who copies faster than who innovates? The notch fashion seems to have already been overtaken by the manufacturers of Android smartphones, fortunately. In the very fast world of tech, where evolution takes place at incredible speed, there is no room for those who are left behind. Most OEMs are fortunately racing to achieve the legen

Bethesda delays The Elder Scrolls: Blades until early 2019

Image
Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls: Blades will now be released in early 2019. Back in June our own Corbin Devenport went hands-on with the title on the show floor of E3, which is where Todd Howard had teased the original release date of fall 2018. With the current kerfuffle surrounding Bethesda's Fallout 76, it would appear that it's probably not in the best interest of the company to publish a free-to-play game that takes advantage of the fan-favorite Elder Scrolls license, potentially explaining this unexpected delay. We already know that The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a mobile free-to-play title, and in the current climate this type of game (and the connotations that come with it) may not reflect well on the already wounded company. So I can't say it's much of a surprise to see the game pushed back to early 2019. While Bethesda has not made any official announcements as to why the game has been delayed, it seems pretty safe to assume its cur

Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) Wireless Headphones $299 - Amazon Cyber Week 2018 Deals

Image
Amazon is still dropping the price of the Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) wireless headphones today, priced at just $299. That is down from $349, and while that doesn't seem like a huge discount - only14-percent - it is actually a big deal. As Bose products only drop in price a couple of times a year, and this is one of those times. It also brings these down to their all-time lowest price, and considering they launched last year, that shows you how often these drop in price. The Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) are a great pair of Bluetooth headphones to pick up for a few reasons. Firstly for the active noise cancellation. It's really good, many prefer to use these on flights, because you can block out all of the airplane sounds and feel like you're not even on a plane. Additionally, these have great battery life, about 20 hours on a single charge. And if you turn off noise cancellation, these will last even longer. The Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) is also good for it
