Galaxy Note 10+ 5G with Exynos 9825 chipset gets benchmarked

The Galaxy Note 10+ 5G carrying the model number SM-N976N appears to have been tested with the online benchmarking tool Geekbench. The phone is equipped with 12GB of RAM and the Exynos 9825 chipset, meaning it's the international variant.

Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G runs Android Pie, but it will most likely be on track for an early update to Android Q after Google releases it later this year. We've exclusively revealed a couple of weeks ago that Android Q will mark the release of a major One UI update, bumping the proprietary software to version 2.0.

In Geekbench, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G powered by the upcoming Exynos 9825 silicon scores around 4,500 points and 10,400 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The results are relatively on par with the Galaxy S10+, but it does seem like the Exynos 9825 might handle single-core tasks more proficiently than the Qualcomm-powered S10+. Keep in mind that these are preliminary tests. Results are subject to change as Samsung could optimize the device further.

The series will also include the standard Galaxy Note 10 which was tested in Geekbench a couple of weeks ago, yielding a similar score. It will share the chipset configuration with the Note 10+ but will feature 8GB of RAM. Samsung's next Note series will be unveiled on August 7 in New York City and recent reports suggest the phone is likely to become available for pre-order on the same date.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production.
