US Cellular announced today that it has dropped the price of its prepaid unlimited data plan from $70 per month to $55. In addition to the price change, a new 3GB-$40 prepaid plan has joined the party as well.

For those not familiar, US Cellular offers unlimited data on this prepaid plan, but it is capped at 1.5Mbps speeds for the first 15GB. After that, the speeds drop to 2G for the rest of the billing cycle. With this new 3GB plan, you should see decent speeds for the first 3GB, but its speeds also drop to 2G after that first 3GB.

For a limited time, if you sign-up for the new $55 and $40 plans, US Cellular will give you a free Samsung J3 or Moto E4 Plus.

At select national retailers, US Cellular also introduced an exclusive 1GB plan for $35. Their press release makes no mention of who those retailers are, so that’s cool.

If interested in US Cellular, the new prepaid plans are already live on their site.
