New Louis Vuitton luxury smartwatch uses Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset

The luxury smartwatch from Louis Vuitton is getting a major upgrade. No, no stones or gold are being added–just a new chipset from Qualcomm. The LV Tambour Horizon smartwatch has a new version loaded with the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 wearable processor. This means a number of things like a longer battery life up to five full days on display mode. On standard smartwatch usage, the device can last a whole day. You may also expect an improved display showing better definition and a 24-hour ring day/night indicator.

Snapdragon Wear 3100 was first reported by us in August. It officially launched the following month especially for the next-gen Wear OS smartwatches.

The new processor boasts a rich ambient mode as a new feature. It offers time and other information like step count or heart rate showing on the screen. The chipset allows consumption of less power compared to before even if the smartwatch is always active.

The LV Tambour Horizon smartwatch also adds new colors and designs. The white ceramic model you see above is new.

It's still a luxury smartwatch offering but no information on pricing and availability have been provided yet. We're assuming it should go around $2,490 just like the older model.
