Galaxy Note 20+ 3C certification reveals support for 5G, 25W fast charging

Samsung is expected to unveil the next-generation Galaxy Note and Galaxy Fold series in August 2020. Multiple Galaxy Note 20 features have been leaked and rumored so far, including its battery size, cameras, and processor. Now, two more features have been confirmed, thanks to the Galaxy Note 20+'s CCC certification documents.

A variant of the Galaxy Note 20+ (SM-N9860) has passed through the CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) certification process, revealing support for 5G networks and 25W (9V/2.77A PD or 11V/2.25A PPS) fast wired charging. The phone's charging was tested using Samsung's EP-TA800 charger, which supports USB-PD and PPS.

The Galaxy Note 20+ is rumored to feature a 6.9-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with an LTPO panel, QHD+ resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to launch with Android 10 and One UI 2. Rumors claim that the Galaxy Note 20 series will use the Exynos 992 chipset (or the Snapdragon 865) with improved performance and power efficiency.

While the phone is rumored to come with a triple-camera setup, consisting of a 108MP primary sensor and a periscope-style optical zoom lens, it reportedly lacks 100x Space Zoom. It will come packed with a 4,500mAh battery, Samsung's second-generation security chip, and a better ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production.
