Resuming SameSite Cookie Changes in July

In April, we temporarily rolled back the enforcement of SameSite cookie labeling to ensure stability for websites providing essential services in the critical initial stage of COVID-19 response. We indicated plans to resume the rollout over the summer.

Since April we have continued to monitor overall ecosystem readiness, and engage with websites and services to ensure they are prepared for the SameSite labeling policy. We are planning to resume our SameSite cookie enforcement coinciding with the stable release of Chrome 84 on July 14, with enforcement enabled for Chrome 80+.

As with the previous rollout, the enforcement will be gradual and we will keep you informed on timing and any possible changes on the SameSite Updates page on Chromium.org. Our overall guidance for developers hasn't changed and you can find more information along with resources and channels to provide feedback in this previous Chromium post and on Web.dev.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. Samsung says upcoming Galaxy M handsets will be better and cheaper

The Galaxy M series has proven to be very successful for Samsung. The company launched its Galaxy M handsets last year in a bid to compete more effectively against the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo in India's lucrative mid-range market. It has been able to claw back market share in this segment thanks to the Galaxy M handsets. Customers have really liked what Samsung has offered and they have chosen to open their wallets for these devices. The company now says that the new Galaxy M handsets, lined up for the second half of this year, will be better and cheaper.
