Amazon's newest Fire TV device, the Fire TV Cube, is going to start shipping on Thursday. But for those that haven't pre-ordered yet, Amazon is offering up a pretty sweet trade-in deal, where you can get up to $35 off of the price of the Amazon Fire TV Cube – which is originally, $119. Depending on the streaming device you trade-in, you can get a pretty good discount on the new Fire TV Cube. You can trade in a Roku set-top box or dongle, an Apple TV or a Chromecast device. Unfortunately, Android TV set-top boxes are not available to trade-in. Though if you do have an Android TV set-top box, it is likely the NVIDIA SHIELD TV, which is still more expensive than the Fire TV Cube.

Trading in your current streaming device is pretty simple. Just hit the link below and you can then choose the device you want to trade in. Amazon will give you a quote of how much it'll likely be worth, and give you a credit for the device once it receives it. That credit can be used to buy a new Fire TV device, either the regular Fire TV dongle or the Fire TV Cube. Which is a pretty sweet deal, especially if you just want the regular Fire TV which does have 4K and HDR support anyways. It really couldn't be much easier, and it's a good way to jump onto the Fire TV platform if you've been using Chromecast, Apple TV or Roku's platform.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is the latest Fire TV streaming box from Amazon, and it has all of the usual features you'd expect. That includes Alexa, and being able to use Alexa to find shows to watch, order pizza and even control your smart home. It basically works as an Echo device and a Fire TV built-in, as it is always listening, thanks to the eight microphones included here. The Fire TV Cube also runs on the Fire TV platform, so you're going to get plenty of great apps here to use on your TV, including Netflix, Hulu, Fubo TV, DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV and so much more. Google’s December 2018 security patch includes much-needed RAM management fix

Every first Monday of the month, we're used to seeing Google launch security patches for its supported devices. This month is no different, as Google has released the December 2018 security patch. The patch not only fixes a bunch of security bugs, but also features the long awaited memory performance fixes. Android Pie has long been killing apps in the background (even if you were using them a second ago) and it's even affected devices other than Pixel /Nexus devices and we hope this fix will help. There are also some camera fixes for Pixel users included as well. Surprisingly, we're seeing the updates hit the Nexus 5X and 6P, both of which have reached their end of life. It's good to see Google support these old devices even when their three years are up and the company has no obligation to update them. December's software release is here.
