Huawei Unveils Four New P20 Colors After Sales Milestone – IFA 2018

Huawei on Friday unveiled four new color options for the P20 and P20 Pro, its latest pair of Android flagships unveiled earlier this year to much critical and consumer acclaim. The variants meant to help the mobile series maintain its commercial momentum are Morpho Aurora, Pearl White, Golden Brown Leather, and Elegant Black Leather. The non-leather models are scheduled to be released on Wednesday, September 5, as revealed by Huawei Chief Executive Officer Richard Yu. The official didn't clarify which European and other markets are planned to receive the new P20 variants, with his IFA 2018 presentation only revealing the new P20 models will be priced at €649 ($750), whereas the revised P20 Pro versions will retail at €899 ($1,045).

The Elegant Black Leather and Golden Brown Leather finishes will be a P20 Pro exclusive, priced at €999 ($1,160). While their prices are higher compared to the regular models, both variants will also pack 256GB of flash storage and 8GB of RAM, i.e. the most premium configurations the P20 Pro has to offer. The four colors are believed to be the final revision of the P20 lineup as they're set to debut just over a month before Huawei is scheduled to unveil its next Android flagship family in the form of the Mate 20. The Chinese electronics manufacturer just revealed the P20 series has been selling exceptionally well in most markets, having managed to hit ten million shipments after only five months.

The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be powered by the Kirin 980, the latest system-on-chip from Huawei's subsidiary HiSilicon that the company officially unveiled earlier today as the world's most capable mobile chipset. The module is equipped with a pair of neural processing units for on-device artificial intelligence processing and should additionally improve the already top-of-the-class imaging capabilities of the Huawei P20 Pro's triple-camera setup. It's also the world's first SoC built on TSMC's 7nm process node, the same one that Qualcomm will use for its upcoming Snapdragon 845 successor set to debut in the final quarter of the year.

Apple is postponing new iOS features in favor of reliability and performance

Apple has decided to postpone new features in iOS in favor of improving the reliability and performance of the operating system, as according to a report by Axios. According to the report, Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, announced the revised plan to employees at a meeting earlier this month. This pushes features like refresh of the homescreen and in-car user interface, improvements to core apps like Mail and camera experience to 2019.
