Motorola's Moto G7 Is An Insane Value & Now Available For $299

The Motorola Moto G7 is now available for purchase, after a relatively short pre-order period. The Moto G7 is priced at $299 for 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Motorola announced the Moto G7 earlier this month, as the seventh-generation of its popular mid-range smartphone lineup. It is a nice upgrade over last year's Moto G6, with a pretty modest bump in price. The Moto G7 has a 6.2-inch full HD+ display, however, it does have a tear-drop notch included.

Other specs for the Moto G7 include the Snapdragon 632 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There is still a micro SD card slot available, and Adoptable Storage is also included. This is all powered by a 3,000mAh capacity battery. Motorola has outfitted the Moto G7 with a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor on the backside. The front houses the 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Moto G7 is running Android 9 Pie, and as has been the case in the past with Motorola, it is a stock version of Android with a few additions added in. Popular features like Moto Display, Moto Voice and others are still available on the Moto G7. But keeping with a stock version of Android means that the Moto G7 is going to run even more efficiently on lower-end hardware. Basically, that means that this Snapdragon 632 is going to perform pretty well.

Unlike in previous years, Motorola is only offering one version of the Moto G7 - but it's in two colors: black and white. So the Moto G7 only comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Which is going to be a perfectly fine spec configuration, especially for those that are looking to only spend a few hundred on a new smartphone, but still need plenty of storage and power. There are other configurations, but they are actually different phones, like the Moto G7 Power, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Plus.

Quick Charge 3.0 is also available on the Moto G7, and Motorola has included a 15W wall charger in the box. Allowing you to quickly recharge the Moto G7 within two hours. That's a pretty normal speed for a 3,000mAh capacity battery. This battery should last all day, but again that will depend on how you use the phone. Since everyone uses their phone a bit differently.

You can purchase the Moto G7 now from Motorola's own website for $299. As mentioned, it is available in black or white. It will also work with all four US carriers. That includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. In addition to that, it will also work with MVNO's that run on those networks. This includes Google Fi, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and others. That makes this a really great option for those that don't want to be tied down to a carrier, but still don't want to spend a ton of cash.
