Samsung’s Giphy helps you fight iPhone ‘blue bubble’ purists

Have you ever texted an iPhone user and received a snarky reply criticizing your smartphone brand of choice? Have you ever been made fun of by an iPhone user because of your green text bubbles? And if so, did you ever wish you'd have a quick and effective comeback? Well, Samsung has got you covered with a new dedicated Giphy page filled with GIFs designed to convey the same message, more or less. And the message is #GreenDontCare.

To give you a bit of context, text messages sent from Android to iOS users are highlighted on the iPhone's screen in a green bubble instead of a blue one. Essentially, iOS treats Android text messages differently than messages from iOS users, and this may or may not create a divide between the people tapping the screens. You may not be aware of this, but apparently, some iPhone users are judgmental toward the green bubble crowd, and what better way to combat this attitude than with a bit of humor?

Among all the Android OEMs, Samsung has been the only one to be able and successfully mock Apple, particularly through humorous ads, even though the company backtracked on the 3.5mm headphone jack mockery quite recently, in anticipation of the Galaxy Note 10 market launch. This time, however, Samsung wants to put the right tools for the job in the hands of its fan base, and thus the Giphy page was created. More so, the company also seems to have teamed up with a number of popular Instagram users to promote the new #GreenDontCare movement.

So, in conclusion, if you happen to have a friend who uses an iPhone and mocks your green text bubble, or if you want to be prepared for the eventuality that you might come across the most supercilious iPhone users, check out Samsung's Giphy page and grab some digital ammunition. And if you ever had an unusual back-and-forth with an iPhone user via text, feel free to share your story in the comment section. Otherwise, let us know which GIFs you like the most.
