The Moto Z3 Play has shown up on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 660

Image
With the Moto Z3 Play less than one week away, the leaks just keep on coming and today is no exception. Interestingly, however, instead of being a design related one, the latest leak comes in the form of a benchmark listing, revealing a few internal details about the device. As per the listing, Motorola's next smartphone is set to ship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 on the inside, placing it above April's Moto G6 Plus in terms of power. In fact, the processor managed to achieve a Geekbench result of 1,299 points when it came to the single-core test. The multi-core test, on the other ... #Google #Android #Smartphones #OS #News @ndrdnws #ndrdnws #AndroidNews

What Do You Want the Pixel 3 to Look Like?

Image
Yesterday, we posted up some well-made render concepts of Google's upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that were based on a supposed screen protector leak for each phone. I made it pretty clear that I thought the renders presented two very Google-esque phones that meet current smartphone trends and look, well, hot as hell. But after seeing the reaction on Twitter and by some in the comments, it's clear that a number of you do not agree. Now I'm curious – what do you want the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to look like? If not similar to the image at the top of this post, then what? Taking that a step further, are you guys crazy? In the image above, you have a smaller Pixel 3 that is a mirror image of last year's Pixel 2 XL. It has slimmer bezels than the Pixel 2, but overall, keeps the design language from last year in a body that the original Pixel 2 should have had. There's no notch either! It's a full-screen device with stereo speakers. If you liked the Pixel 2

Aurora Black LG G7 ThinQ is now in stock in the UK

Image
The LG G7 ThinQ is now in stock in the UK through a number of retailers. The phone went on pre-order earlier this month. Buyers will be able to get the Aurora Black G7 ThinQ starting now, but will need to wait until late June for the Platinum Grey model. The price for the LG G7 ThinQ is £599 with VAT which translates to €680. That's considerably less than the early listings for the phone that reached as high as €800. Thanks for the heads-up, James! Qualcomm is working on Snapdragon 850 chipset for Windows computers

Image
Qualcomm partnered with Microsoft for official Windows 10 support on the Snapdragon 835, which was extended to the 845 chip a year later. It seems that these Windows-on-ARM portable computers have proven successful enough to warrant a dedicated chip. The Snapdragon 850 isn't an entirely new chip – it's a faster 845 – and it is aimed squarely at Windows ultra portables. It features 8 cores as before with the "big" cluster clocked higher than the phone version. The Lenovo ELZE1 Europe powered by Snapdragon 850 The Kryo 385 Gold cores (based on Cortex-A75) reach as high as 2.96 GHz, a couple of hundred megahertz more than phone chips. This is mostly due to the improved thermals of the larger ultra portable computers. Lenovo is working on a device dubbed ELZE1, aka Europe, which will be built by Compal. HP has partnered with Quanta on the Chimera 2, while HP will be selling its Snapdragon 850-based computer to carriers in the US, the UK and Australia. Sour

Sony adds Google Lens to camera app on XZ2 and XZ2 Compact

Image
... Google originally debuted Lens in Google Photos for select devices, but it didn't get much use there. Now, it's appearing in Google Assistant on most phones, and a few devices are slated to get Lens integration in the camera app. Sony has followed through, adding Google Lens to the camera app on its Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact phones. Google Lens uses AI to identify objects and provide helpful features and links. For example, you can copy text from a sign or business card. It can also ID movie posters or books and offer up links with more information. With Lens in your camera app, you can instantly get details about whatever you see in the viewfinder. Sony says no OTA system updates are necessary for Lens functionality. Just update your Google app in the Play Store, and Lens will begin working in your camera. This feature is currently limited to the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact, but there's nothing stopping Sony from adding support to other p

Honor 10 Review: The Ultimate Affordable Flagship

Image
Honor has done it again, providing a powerful smartphone that looks beautiful at a low price.  The Huawei P20 lineup brought in quite a few features that everyone seemed to love, including a color-changing back, even better cameras with artificial intelligence baked in, and much more. But the P20 and P20 Pro are pretty expensive, closing in on €1000 ($1,100). That's where Huawei's sister company, Honor comes in, with the Honor 10. It is essentially the Huawei P20, but at a much lower price tag. It's actually €399 in Europe right now, which is a big difference, but is it worth it? Is it a phone to buy if you want the P20, but can't stomach that high of a price? Let's find out. Specs The Honor 10 is packing a 5.84-inch 19:9 display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080, meaning it is still a full HD panel here, with a notch on the top. Now under-the-hood, Honor is packing the Kirin 970 chipset with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage (our unit has
