Heads up, Google Fit users, because soon you'll have one less way to check your fitness progress.

The Google Fit website is being shut down on March 19, 2019. Google announced the news on the Google Fit site today, explaining that it's focusing on adding new features to enhance the Google Fit experience on smartphones and smartwatches.

Google Fit website shutdown

Google doesn't say much more than that with regard to why it's shutting the site down, but it's possible that it just didn't get much use. Lots of folks use their smartphones and smartwatches while they're exercising, and so the majority of Google Fit users may also rely on their watches and phones to view their workout data rather than going to the website.
