LG Launches K12+ Smartphone with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound Support

LG has launched its K12+ smartphone in Brazil with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound Support. This is the same device that was launched as LG K40 earlier this year. The handset is a mid-range smartphone which comes with the AI-based features. The device will be available in Black, Platinum and Blue color options and is priced at BRL 1,199 (approx US$ 305). Furthermore, it is MIL-STD 810G certificated for durability giving protection against exposure to high and low temperature.

The K12+ from LG will be featuring a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and under the hood, it is powered with a 12nm MediTek Helio P22 Octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR GE8320. The onboard storage is limited to 32GB which could be extended further via microSD card slot. Moreover, it comes out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with LG own UX UI on top which is a bit disappointing considering even the entry-level devices coming with Android 9 Pie OS.

There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear to enhance the security levels and it measures 153.0 x 71.9 x 8.3 mm and weighs 150 grams. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. LG has provided a 3000mAh battery on the handset without any support for fast charging technology. There is a 16MP main camera sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture size along with an 8MP selfie camera with LED flash.

The handset has a dedicated Google Assistant button along with the volume rockers and power buttons on the side. There isn't any notch on the display so we can find a bigger chin and forehead big bigger bezels. Well, are you planning to get this device from LG?
