Galaxy Xcover 4s gets Bluetooth certification, launch imminent
Samsung has a new rugged smartphone under its Galaxy Xcover series in the works for some time now. The device, carrying the model number SM-G398F, was spotted on Geekbench last week, a day before it was certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. While the model number suggested the device to launch as Galaxy Xcover 5, a Dutch e-commerce website recently listed it as Xcover 4s. And it appears to be true, as the Galaxy Xcover 4s has just been granted the Bluetooth certification.
Galaxy Xcover 4s launching soon
An unannounced Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-G398FN and the Galaxy Xcover 4s moniker has just been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. It is the same device that was listed by the Dutch e-commerce website CentralPoint last week. The retailer suggested the phone to arrive in early June with a price tag of €249. Bluetooth SIG has also certified a dual SIM variant of the Galaxy Xcover 4s. And apart from confirming its marketing name, the certification also reveals the support for Bluetooth 5.0.
To recall, the Xcover 4 was launched for €259 all the way back in 2017. Its successor will understandably feature upgraded internals. The Xcover 4s will be powered by the Exynos 7885 SoC with 3GB of RAM, 1GB more than its predecessor. It should also come with Android Pie onboard while flaunting a similar military-grade ruggedness. The device is said to pack the same 2800mAh battery inside.
No other details about the Galaxy Xcover 4s are available at the moment. They should start popping up in the coming days as we inch closer to its release.
