Galaxy Note 9 Android 10 beta program live in India, coming soon to the US

The Android 10-based One UI 2.0 beta program for the Galaxy Note 9 has been launched in India today and will soon be coming to the US as well. The Note 9's One UI 2.0 beta debuted in the UK and South Korea last week, and earlier today, the One UI 2.0 beta was also released for the Galaxy S9 in India and South Korea. At this time, it's unclear if the Note 9 or S9 betas will be expanding to markets like Germany, where both the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 Android 10 betas are available.

Galaxy Note 9 owners in India will be able to grab the Android 10 beta update from their phone's Settings » Software update menu after enrolling in the beta program via the One UI beta notice in the Samsung Members app. The first beta build that's rolling out in the country is the same one that Samsung released as a hotfix in the UK and South Korea yesterday (build number N960FXXU4ZSK7). It's a 1930 MB download and includes the November 2019 security patch.

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. Samsung's P3 plant could be a 'total semiconductor factory' Given the size of the P3 plant compared to the P2 factory, industry watchers speculate that Samsung might want to turn the P3 facility into a 'total semiconductor factory' capable of producing DRAM and NAND flash chips as well...

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well.
