Gear S3 frontier update patches major S Voice bug

-
Samsung released a much-requested update for the Gear S3 frontier on Wednesday. The upgrade has been designed to patch a major bug that resulted in S Voice crashing whenever it was toggled — and from what we can tell, it’s working. The glitch itself has been running riot since May, which is around the same time the device received a routine maintenance update , leading us to believe a faulty line of code was the reason S Voice was unable to run without breaking down. Related: Gear S3 Frontier update is small, brings Jansky wearable Not all customers were affected by the glitch in the same way, though. Some noticed that the performance of S Voice suffered when asking it to retrieve information from the internet, like a weather forecast, but it never crashed. It’s all a little strange, but it’s nice to see Samsung release an update to fix the issue. Apple is postponing new iOS features in favor of reliability and performance

Apple has decided to postpone new features in iOS in favor of improving the reliability and performance of the operating system, as according to a report by Axios. According to the report, Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, announced the revised plan to employees at a meeting earlier this month. This pushes features like refresh of the homescreen and in-car user interface, improvements to core apps like Mail and camera experience to 2019. We have seen Apple do this with macOS in the past, where they dedicate one entire update cycle to just refining the OS and make existing features work better. However, we have never quite seen Apple do that on iOS. This is largely due to the hyper competitive nature of the mobile market where competition and customer demands push companies t...

There has been a lot of speculation about the Galaxy Note 8’s launch in recent weeks. Reports have suggested that the handset will be launched earlier than previously expected. This means that Samsung won’t be unveiling it at the IFA 2017 convention in September. Samsung’s mobile boss recently confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 is going to be launched towards the end of August . The company has now officially confirmed the Galaxy Note 8 launch date by sending out invites to the press. It was reported that Samsung would conduct a separate event for the Galaxy Note 8 in New York City. That’s precisely what it’s going to do. The event will take place on August 23, where the Note 8 will go official. This is going to be a really important moment for Samsung as it essentially marks the rebirth of the Galaxy Note lineup following the disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7 . Samsung was quick to confirm last year that the Note lineup won’t be discontinued, so it’s certainly not going to let th...
