Twitter launches Bookmarks to save tweets for later viewing

According to Twitter , having a quick and easy way to save a tweet to view for later without directly engaging with the tweet or the person who tweeted the content has been one of the most requested features for the social platform. Last year, during Twitter's Hack Week conference, it announced that it was working on a bookmarking or "save for later" feature and that it would roll out the feature to the public when it was ready for mass consumption. That time has finally arrived, as Twitter has just announced that bookmarks are now rolling out. Bookmarks are part of a new sharing feature built right into the Twitter platform for the official apps. Now when you view a tweet, you will see a new share option underneath the tweet. Clicking or tapping it will bring up several different options, including the ability to share the tweet via a Direct Message or to share it outside of Twitter. The final option is to privately bookmark it, which will let you view it later.

Huawei launches Oreo beta for the Honor 7X in four European countries

Image
Feb 28 AT 1:28 PM Dima Aryeh 0 Comments The Honor 7X  is Huawei's latest budget phone under the Honor sub-brand. The $200 smartphone features some impressive specs but unfortunately launched with Android 7.0 Nougat. Fortunately. the Android 8.0 Oreo beta has begun. If you live in France, Germany, Italy, or Spain, you can download the beta version of Oreo with the latest EMUI 8.0 on top. All you have to do is install an APK, register for the beta, and pull the Oreo OTA. Hopefully we'll see the beta program expand to other countries (including the US) so we can all experience Oreo goodness on a great budget phone. Hit the source link for the APK files and leave a comment telling us how you like it! Source: XDA-Developers Dima Aryeh is a Russian obsessed with all things car and tech. SanDisk 400GB microSD card on sale at Amazon along with other microSD cards

If you're looking to expand the storage on your smartphone, tablet, gaming console, or other device, today's a good day to do it. Amazon is now running a sale on SanDisk microSD cards. That includes the 400GB microSD card that launched late last year, making it more affordable to add nearly half a terabyte of storage to your mobile device. This is a Class 10 400GB microSD card with transfer speeds up to 100MB per second. The card also meets the A1 App Performance Class spec, which should help to load apps faster. If you want something a bit cheaper, Amazon is also offering discounts on smaller SanDisk microSD cards, like the 256GB and 200GB SanDisk models. There's no telling how long these deals will last, though, so you may want to act soon if you're interested in any of them. LG G7 (Neo) caught on video at MWC sporting Snapdragon 845 and notched display

Image
LG's been very hard to follow regarding news about the future of the G x series and what its 2018 flagship will be. We first heard that LG wouldn't be calling its next flagship "G7," then that LG has scrapped the in-development G7 for a completely new phone, and most recently that we'll see LG's flagship in June . That's all good and well, but this latest article and video shot by Israeli publication Ynet at MWC 2018 depicts a phone called the G7 (Neo). Interesting. We first heard about this by way of Evan Blass, who tweeted out that this "may be the device LG scrapped in favor of Judy." Judy is the codename of the supposed new LG flagship, but this G7 (Neo) has some very interesting specs itself. They include a 6-inch 3120x1440 OLED display (with a notch, because why the hell not), a Snapdragon 845, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage, a dual camera setup with two 16MP sensors (main one at f/1.6, wide-angle one at f/1.9)

Hangouts Chat Out of Beta and Available to G Suite Users

Image
Almost a year ago today, Google announced its new vision for Hangouts . It would break Hangouts apart into two apps – Meet and Chat – while adding advanced features to them. Meet was available pretty quickly to most, but Hangouts Chat has only been in beta or as a part of an Early Access Program. Today, Hangouts Chat leaves that EAP and will be available to all G Suite users as a core application. What's different about Hangouts Chat? While we have yet to use it (don't worry, we will use it soon), you'll see a fair amount of people compare it to Slack . Hangouts Chat is Google's take on the modern project management, group messaging application. You can chat with everyone in your organization, make groups, and that sort of thing, of course, but the app includes integrations from other apps too. You'll be able to work with Drive applications easily within chats, there are bots in chats to help you set meetings and find files, and companies like Kayak, Vonage, Ub

Chrono Trigger has been updated with new features to bring it up to date with the new PC release

Image
Chrono Trigger has had quite the checkered past on Android. It originally released on the Play Store back in 2012 . Later that year Android version 4.3 was released which broke the game. Square Enix left it broken until it was finally updated with a fix sometime in 2014 . It has had a few updates since then, but none of them were of substance. The good news is that it appears Square Enix is finally showing some love to this classic JRPG since it was just updated with some new useful features in order to bring it in line with their newly released PC port . Okay, so you are probably asking yourself "what exactly changed with this update?" Well, the graphics and sound have been improved along with new touchscreen controls, gamepad support, an auto-save feature that includes cloud saving, and a new achievement function. Surprisingly these are all features people have been asking for, and Square Enix has delivered. Sadly not everything is sunshine and r

Huawei P20 Lite photo and features leak out: iPhone X-like notch, generous battery

Image
Earlier this month, we saw renders allegedly showing the unannounced Huawei P20 Lite, a smartphone that will probably be unveiled on March 27 (alongside a regular Huawei P20, and a P20 Plus). Now, thanks to Venture Beat, we can take a look at what seems to be a real photo depicting the Huawei P20 Lite - see above. As the aforementioned renders have shown, the most noticeable design element on the P20 Lite is its notch (à la Apple iPhone X) that sits at the top of its display. According to Venture Beat, this display is a 5.6-inch one with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1080 ...

Hangouts Chat, Google's messaging service for teams, is finally available [APK Download]

Image
Almost a full year ago, Google decided to split Hangouts into two entities : Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat. The former  became available pretty quickly, but the latter took its sweet time to arrive. Hangouts Chat is a messaging service for teams, much like Slack or Microsoft Teams, and it's free for current G Suite users. Google actually had an Early Adopter Program for G Suite users who were eager to try Hangouts Chat out, but only now has the service gone live for everyone. Users can collaborate and chat in rooms, communicate with bots, and share files and other content easily. As a Google service, it integrates seamlessly with Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and even Hangouts Meet. Artificial intelligence enables chores like booking conference rooms and searching for files to be done more quickly. Bots include the @Drive bot, which lets you know when changes are made to your documents, as well as the @Meet bot, which schedules meetings for you by integrating

Essential Phone (PH-1) hands-on review: has its time come?

Image
Andy Rubin, formerly head of the Android project at Google, decided to launch his own smartphone company, Essential. The first smartphone called Essential PH-1 (ph-one, geddit?) is an impressive device, with a refined design, quality materials and an interesting front camera. We got our hands on one of Rubin's babies at MWC 2018, and find it to be a compelling option for your new smartphone this year. Design and build quality Despite all this though, the Android expert's ideal phone has remained a somewhat niche device with disappointing sales 2017. Now, at a reduced price and with more color options, is the Essential Phone a valid choice this year?  At first glance, the smartphone impresses with its minimalist design. The body is made of shiny ceramic: it captures fingerprints like glass but it is colder and more pleasant to the touch. Unlike the back, the smartphone's structure is made of titanium. According to the company,

Nokia to be Vodafone’s tech partner for Mission to the Moon

Image
It's been almost 50 years since we first put a man on the moon and our fascination for space exploration is still not over. The Mission to the Moon by PTScientists is set to launch next year and it will be the first privately-funded Moon landing. Vodafone is planning to create the first 4G network on the Moon and now they have chosen Nokia to be their technology partner in this very special mission. They are aiming to create the lightest space-grade Ultra Compact Network for this project. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch next year from Cape Canaveral and Vodafone is planning that they will bring with them the first 4G network to the Moon. They will be connecting two Audi lunar quattro rovers to the base station in the Autonomous Landing and Navigation Module (ALINA). They should be able to not just communicate but also transfer scientific data and even HD video. They will be approaching and studying the Apollo 17 lunar roving vehicle which were used by the last
