Google Home supports navigating touch-tone menus by voice

Google Home got call support last year, but although we've been able to make use of the hardware's hands-free VoIP support since then, there were a few noteworthy omissions. One of them was touch-tone number entry support for things like navigating automated menu systems. That exclusion has been fixed, as you can now tell Google to "press" numbers during calls. 

We were tipped off about the new feature earlier today, and in our own testing, it works. Navigating phone menus should now be backward compatible with older menu systems. (Many automated systems do support voice-based navigation, but not all of them.)

Google has even added this feature explicitly in its support documentation, though it also claims that it isn't currently supported.

Based on our tests, it looks like it's time to update that page, Google.

Telenav Seeks Disruption With Free In-Car Services

Location-based solution provider Telenav is seeking to disrupt the in-car services industry with a new monetization platform designed to offer a variety of in-car services such as free navigation to consumers and monetize them through advertising. Originally announced at Las Vegas, Nevada-based Consumer Electronics Show in January, Telenav's offering is effectively targeted at bringing the ad-supported software business model that already proved its worth in the mobile industry to the in-vehicle tech segment. The company's internal studies and a number of independent surveys suggest the vast majority of consumers "would prefer free in-car services monetized through ads rather than pay for them" like they would traditionally, Telenav Executive Director of Strategy Ky Tang told AndroidHeadlines in an interview. A new Portable SSD T7 without a fingerprint scanner was confirmed

Samsung is preparing to release a new SSD T7 model that lacks a fingerprint scanner. An official product page for this new variant went live at Samsung Canada , and although pricing and release details are missing, the scannerless Portable SSD T7 is shown from all angles in numerous press renders. The new model drops the 'Touch' moniker Samsung's original Portable SSD T7 Touch was released earlier this year with a fingerprint scanner built-in. But since the upcoming sensorless model lacks this security feature, it seems to be dropping the 'Touch' moniker. It's simply listed as the Portable SSD T7 on the company's Canadian portal. Much like the original model, the Portable SSD T7 will be available in three storage configurations including 500GB, 1TB, and 2GB.
