Google launches Android security update for May with OTA and Images now available for supported devices



It's the first Monday of the month, so that means that Google has released the latest monthly security update and the OTA and Images are now available to download for supported devices.

The updates of course come in two versions – the 1st of May for manufacturers and the 5th of May for Google's supported hardware which includes the Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P (not yet available, should be here shortly), Pixel C and of course the Pixel/Pixel XL and Pixel 2/Pixel XL. Over The Air update files are available to download, as are the flashable Images if you need to get those.

  • Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL – 8.1.0 (OPM2.171019.029.B1, May 2018)
  • Pixel/Pixel XL – 8.1.0 (OPM4.171019.016.B1, May 2018)
  • Nexus 6P – Not yet available
  • Nexus 5X – 8.1.0 (OPM4.171019.016.A1, May 2018)
  • Pixel C – 8.1.0 (OPM4.171019.016.C1, May 2018)

Google has been including functional updates for their devices in the monthly security updates for a while, and this month those include:
