No 25W super fast charging for the Galaxy Tab S6

The Galaxy Tab S6 comes with Samsung's old 15W Quick Charge 2.0/Adaptive Fast Charge fast charging technology instead of the new 25W super fast charging that debuted on the Galaxy S10 5G. This may be a bummer for some prospective consumers, who would expect Samsung's new flagship tablet to have all the latest features. However, the company has always been shy of equipping its tablets as well as it equips its flagship smartphones, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to everyone.

Moreover, with the kind of battery life tablets provide, the traditional 15W fast charging should be sufficient. There's also the fact that the large batteries inside tablets would take time to charge even with faster charging speeds, so it's not a bad idea for Samsung to keep 25W super fast charging out of the Tab S6's spec sheet in order to keep the price of the device more palatable. The Galaxy Tab S6 is an expensive tablet however you look at it, although some folks might be disappointed that they have to miss out on features like a 3.5mm headphone jack as well despite paying so much.

Hopefully, 25W charging will be available on the Galaxy Tab S7 (or whatever the Tab S6 successor is called). With the competition offering some insane fast charging technology on their smartphones, Samsung's 15W charging is looking very outdated these days. The Galaxy Note 10+ may even have support for 45W charging (and perhaps the regular Note 10 as well), so there's certainly hope the Korean giant's 25W fast charging tech will have become commonplace on Galaxy devices by 2020.
