Latest Galaxy Z Flip firmware update is out now with July security patch

Samsung has really picked up the pace with its monthly security updates over the past year. Several devices now receive the security maintenance release for the following month even before the details about the patch are made public.

The Galaxy S20 was the first device to get the July 2020 security patch last week and it was followed by the Galaxy A50. Samsung is now rolling out the latest Galaxy Z Flip firmware update which brings the security patch for the month of July.

Galaxy Z Flip gets the July 2020 security patch

This latest Galaxy Z Flip firmware is now widely available in markets across Asia, Europe the Middle East and South America. Samsung is rolling out firmware version F700FXXS2ATF3 for the Galaxy Z Flip. It's available for immediate download from our firmware section.

There won't be much in the way of new features with this update. It's a routine security maintenance release that patches vulnerabilities in the Android operating system as well as Samsung's proprietary software.

The July 2020 security patch hasn't been detailed as yet, so it's unclear precisely which vulnerabilities have been patched by this update. Samsung should follow through with the details on this patch over the next few days.

Those who are looking forward to new features for their Galaxy Z Flip may not have to wait much longer. Samsung is due to launch One UI 2.5 with the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The latest iteration of its custom skin is bound to bring several new features. It will eventually be released for existing devices like the Galaxy Z Flip as well.
