Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen US release date confirmed

Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen about a month ago in South Korea. It’s basically the same as the existing Galaxy Tab A, only that this tablet comes with the S Pen, it’s the same S Pen that Samsung debuted with the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. Samsung today confirmed the US release details for this tablet – called Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen in the States – it’s going to be available later this week.

This tablet features a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution 10.1-inch display, it has a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor under the hood coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card. Aside from an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera, the tablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with a 7,300mAh battery. The S Pen brings all of the new software features that debuted with the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung is only launching the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen in the United States, it’s unclear whether a cellular version will be offered at some point in the future. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen costs $349.99 and will be released in the United States on October 28.

Google Play Points reward program is official, but only in Japan for now

The rewards scheme is called Play Points and has gone live in Japan, according to a support page for the app. Users can join the program by navigating to the 'Play Points' section in the app's hamburger menu. To begin with, one point will be awarded for every ¥100 (about $0.90) spent on apps and games — to be used on IAPs or converted to Google Play credit — but as you progress, higher levels can be achieved with even greater rewards. Samsung releases Galaxy A31 in Malaysia along with deals and freebies

Samsung fans in Malaysia can now buy the company's latest mid-range phone, the Galaxy A31 . It's available in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue, and Prism Crush White. The phone's official announcement for Malaysia mentions a recommended retail price of RM 1,099 ($257) but the company's online shop tells a different story. As of this writing, Samsung Malaysia is selling the Galaxy A31 for RM 50 less, or RM 1,049 ($245). In addition, Samsung Malaysia is offering free gifts to customers who buy the Galaxy A31 before June 30. Aside from getting an RM 50 discount, buyers will also receive free Protection Plus worth RM 119 ($28).
