Biggest smartphones launching in February 2018


The biggest annual event in the mobile industry,

Mobile World Congress

, is all set to return in Barcelona, Spain. It is scheduled to be held between February 26 to March 1, 2018 and will act as the launchpad for the biggest smartphone brands to showcase their products for this year. Here are a few devices that are expected to be spotted this year:

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+

Samsung has confirmed the unveiling date of its flagship smartphones 2018. The company has sent out invites for the launch of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on February 25, just one day before the Mobile World Congress 2018 kick-starts. The Galaxy S9 is said to sport a 5.7-inch display and Galaxy S9+ is expected to feature a 6.2-inch display. The smartphones are likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

Vivo X20 Plus UD

Last month at CES 2018, Vivo showcased the world's first in-display fingerprint. Even though the company has already launched the handset in China, it is expected to showcase it in at the upcoming MWC as well. This in-display fingerprint sensor is placed between the mainboard and the OLED display. In terms of specifications, the Vivo X20 Plus UD features a 6.43-inch full HD+ display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.

Vivo Xplay 7

Another Vivo handset that is rumoured to be launched at the upcoming MWC is the Vivo Xplay 7. This handset is said to mark another world's first feature with 10GB RAM on-board. The device is claimed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and feature the same in-display fingerprint sensor like the Vivo X20 Plus UD.

Asus Zenfone 5 Max

Taiwanese handset maker Asus has also sent out invites for an event scheduled on February 27 at Mobile World Congress (2018). The invite definitely hints that the company is planning to launch Zenfone 5 series as it has giveaways such as "#BACKTO5" and "We Love Photo" -- tagline of Zenfone 4 series. Also, there is an image of Qualcomm Snapdragon hinting the processor that will power the upcoming line-up.

Sony Xperia XZ Pro

Sony too is expected to take the wraps off its 2018 flagship smartphone, which is rumoured to be called the Xperia XZ Pro at the MWC 2018. The handset is expected to sport an OLED display like the iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 XL. Besides the flagship, the company is also likely to announce other handsets from the 2018 line-up as well.


Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S

As per the earlier reports, Xiaomi was expected to launch its flagship, Mi 7, at the MWC 2018. But as per the latest reports, the company plans to launch the successor to it Mi Mix 2, rumoured to be called the Mi Mix 2S. The leaks also hint that the Mi Mix 2s will be powered by Qualcomm's flagship processor for 2018, the Snapdragon 845.

Moto G6

Keeping up with its launch cycle,

Motorola

is also expected to launch the new the latest edition of its G-series line-up at MWC. Expected to be called the Moto G6 Play, the device has recently surfaced online. The device is likely to sport an 18:9 display ratio, making Motorola's entry in the bezel-less display handsets bandwagon.

Nokia 9

HMD, the Finnish brand responsible for manufacturing and marketing Nokia smartphones is also getting ready to launch its 2018 line-up of smartphones at the MWC. Last year too, the company showcased its global line-up of handsets at MWC 2017. Besides the flagship Nokia 9, Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018), and Nokia 3310 4G, are also expected to make an appearance.
