Pixel Launcher search bar for Google Pixel 3 may be updated

A new Pixel Launcher will be revealed soon. This is according to a recent report that said the Google Pixel 3 will feature a new Pixel Launcher search bar. We're assuming other Google phones like the Nexus and Android One will also have this since the Pixel Launcher is usually found in Google-powered devices. The Pixel 3 isn't ready yet but we believe the tech giant is already working on it. The Pixel 3 will feature the new Pixel Launcher and some images recently sighted show the possibility.

The "Pixel 3" here is actually just a OnePlus 5. What XDA Senior Member paphonb did was to modify the Pixel Launcher APK from a Pixel 2. There are hidden built-in features of the Pixel Launcher that were enabled by doing some modifications. The main change is the search bubble being split into two. See images below:

This seems to be more aesthetic since the next Material Design version is also rumored to be introduced at the Google I/O 2018 this coming May. There's also the fact that the XDA dev paphonb saw these code in an official APK. See below:

We're still taking everything with a grain of salt. We need more proof that for one, a Pixel 3 will still be announced and that it will come with a Pixel Launcher.

With every few updates, Google Maps seems to walk closer and closer to a full-fledged refresh of its Material interface, helping it go along with the new direction Google is taking this year with its app design language. We've seen a new look for the main interface , an updated side menu , overhauled hotel listings , new fonts in many places throughout the app, a persistent Overview/Reviews/Photos bar on some place listings, and even an update to the look of the app on Android Auto . But over the past couple of days, one more part of the app is getting its re-looking session: Directions. For the longest time now, Google Maps has had a blue background behind the from/to directions boxes. The new UI switches that to more white, with dark grey text and icons, and some blue accents for the selected mode of transportation and starting step-by-step guidance.
