New Android tools for mobile game development:

Android Studio System Trace tool: updated with native memory profiling capabilities.

Development Extension for Visual Studio: a new extension making it easy to add Android support for your cross-platform games so you can generate apks, deploy to Android devices or an emulator, and debug your game within Visual Studio.

Android GPU Inspector developer preview: get details about your game's render stages and GPU counters along with insights to optimize your title for better frame rates and battery life.

Game Package Registry for Unity by Google: consolidating various Google APIs.

New ways to reach more devices & users

Scale your reach to a growing player-base across the Android ecosystem with new tools and insights into your game's performance:

Google Play Asset Delivery: a new set of delivery features built on the App Bundle infrastructure, to give you free dynamic delivery of the right game assets to the right devices at the right time.

Android vitals native crash symbolication (open beta): debug your native crashes more easily with support for symbolication in Play Console. Simply upload your native debug symbols to benefit.

Android Performance Tuner (developer preview): understand and improve frame rate performance for your games across the fleet of Android devices with new game performance metrics in Android vitals.

Upcoming Google Play and Android deadlines

GCMNetworkManager:

April 2020: FirebaseJobDispatcher library will be archived and no longer supported.

November 2020: GCMNetworkManager library will stop receiving new features or support.

TargetSDK:

August 3, 2020: new apps must target at least Android 10 (API level 29).

November 2, 2020: all app updates must target at least Android 10 (API level 29).
