Samsung Pay’s first anniversary in the US is being celebrated by adding support for coupons

Samsung Pay, the South Korean electronics giant’s mobile payment and digital wallet service, has officially turned one in the US. Samsung claims that its mobile payments platform now supports 500 banks in the US, which represents over 80 percent of the credit card and debit card market in the country.

To celebrate Samsung Pay’s first anniversary, Samsung has added an in-app service to search, store, and redeem coupons. Samsung has tied up with Coupons.com to integrate the new service. The company also talked about the new cloud storage feature that lets users restore gift cards, membership cards and Samsung Reward cards when they sign into a new device.

Samsung is also offering Samsung Pay users over $100,000 in prizes as a part of this celebration. The company has announced that 365 lucky winners would be eligible to receive a free Gear S2 smartwatch, which is now compatible with Samsung Pay using its NFC feature.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. The Galaxy M series has proven to be very successful for Samsung. The company launched its Galaxy M handsets last year in a bid to compete more effectively against the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo in India's lucrative mid-range market.
