T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge updated with Samsung Cloud and September security patch

If you’re on T-Mobile and own one of Samsung’s 2016 flagship smartphones you might be thinking that it’s almost October and yet your handset has still not received the September security update. The wait ends for you today as T-Mobile is now rolling out a new firmware update for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge which features the September Security Maintenance Release.

The update comes in at over 350MB because it also brings Samsung Cloud features for the handset which includes sync for photos, videos and other files. Backup and restore features for music, home screen, apps, documents, and more have also been added while a new cloud management menu is also onboard. Perhaps the most important addition is that of the September Security Maintenance Release, both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will have a security patch date of September 1 once users download and install this latest update on their handsets. The carrier hast just started rolling out the latest firmware update for both handsets so it might take some time for the update to go live across all regions of the United States.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. Samsung says upcoming Galaxy M handsets will be better and cheaper

The Galaxy M series has proven to be very successful for Samsung. The company launched its Galaxy M handsets last year in a bid to compete more effectively against the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo in India's lucrative mid-range market.
