Galaxy Tab S2 Nougat update gets Wi-Fi certification

We confirmed two months ago that Samsung had started working on the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Tab S2. After officially announcing the Nougat release for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge last week, Samsung shared a list of devices that are due to receive this update in the first half of 2017. The Galaxy Tab S2 is on that list and has now been given Wi-Fi certification for the Nougat update.

All 2015 models of the Galaxy Tab S2 – SM-T810, SM-T815 and SM-T817 – have paid a visit to the Wi-Fi Alliance for certification purposes. They have now been certified with Android 7.0 Nougat onboard. This means that a big step has now been taken towards the eventual rollout of said update.

Samsung has not yet confirmed precisely when it’s going to release Nougat for the Galaxy Tab S2 but it shouldn’t be too long now. Perhaps it will make us wait until the Galaxy Tab S3 is out. Its next-generation flagship tablet is expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona next month.

DJI showcased its new Mavic Air drone in New York. The third quadcopter in this series is of similar quality to its predecessors and can also fold its arms for better portability. For its size, no competitor offers so much in terms of photo quality. The drone is available in three colors: marengo grey, white and red. Samsung spent a lot of money to tell New York that the Galaxy S8 has arrived

It goes without saying that Samsung is going to spend a lot of money on marketing to get the word out that its new flagship smartphone is the one you should be buying this year. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at an event in New York City today. Since it was an invite-only event, although it was streamed live online, Samsung decided to spend a lot of money to tell New Yorkers that the Galaxy S8 has arrived. Samsung illuminated the iconic Times Square in New York City with immersive displays reflective of the visual experience that the Galaxy S8′s Infinity Display promises. It basically bought out almost every available signage to announce the arrival of its newest flagship smartphone. As if that wasn’t enough, it even brought in a troupe of performers who danced “in celebration of the debut of the Galaxy S8.” Good stuff.
