Purported Galaxy Xcover 4 running Nougat granted Wi-Fi certification

Earlier today, an unidentified Galaxy-branded smartphone was spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance’s online database. Unfortunately, the documentation doesn’t reveal anything about the device, other than that it carries the model number SM-G390F, which leads us to believe that we’re looking at the long-overdue Galaxy Xcover 4.

What’s particularly interesting about this sighting is that the handset’s operating system is listed as Android 7.0 — so it’s safe to assume that it’ll run Nougat skinned with the latest version of Samsung’s Experience – formally known as TouchWiz — user interface straight out of the box.

Unfortunately, it’s unknown when the Galaxy Xcover 4 will hit the shelves, but seeing as it’s now received its Wi-Fi certification credentials, we don’t expect to have to wait too much longer before it passes through the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), then launches on the open market.

Google Pixel 3 Teardown: Adhesive secures battery, different OLED panel

The Google Pixel 3 XL Teardown by iFixit we featured yesterday revealed the bigger variant offers a whole lot of glue and is a bit challenging to disassemble and repair. We were surprised by the AMOLED screen as it was made by Samsung–one of its biggest rivals. The smartphone isn't exactly our top choice right now but the premium flagship has potential. It has a smaller variant, the standard Pixel 3, that comes without a notch and obviously wide forehead and chin. The Pixel 3 teardown shouldn't be any different from the Google Pixel 3 XL teardown but iFixit was curious if the display is the same. The team opened the new Pixel and discovered the panel is from LG. That's an interesting fact because last year, the Pixel 2 XL had used a display from LG while the vanilla Pixel 2 screen was from Samsung. Samsung's first foldable smartphone has made quite the comeback. Despite the early troubles , it has come back stronger and is actually selling out in markets where it's being sold. The Galaxy Fold won't be the only foldable smartphone to come out of Samsung, though. It has been known for a while that the company is working on another foldable smartphone . From what we gather, this is going to be a slightly more affordable version, and we now hear that it's going to be made available worldwide.
