S Health updated with support for the upcoming Gear Sport

Samsung has updated its S Health application with support for the Gear Sport (SM-R600). It’s worth mentioning, however, that the changelog doesn’t specifically mention the upcoming wearable, but it does refer to the various swim-tracking modes it’s set to introduce.

Information surrounding the Gear Sport is sparse. All we know for certain is that it’s going to be powered by Tizen 3.0 and bundle a whole host of technical health-monitoring features, as well as updated internals, including a waterproof build and more accurate heart rate monitor.

In addition to support for the Gear Sport, the upgrade reportedly transports a more extensive collection of health content for India—but we’re still yet to find anything new. The usual plethora of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations are also included.

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the Gear Sport at IFA in September.
