Samsung Galaxy A6 Android Mid-Ranger Launches In The UK

The British branch of Samsung Electronics officially announced the incoming arrival of the Galaxy A6 to the United Kingdom, stating that the Android mid-ranger will be released in the country later this summer. The device will be available in Black, Gold, and Lavender color options, being set to be sold by a number of the company's UK partners, both wireless carriers and retailers. Some colors may be exclusive to certain distributors, as is often the case with Samsung-made devices sold in the country, though no firm details on the matter have yet been disclosed. Likewise, the tech giant has yet to reveal how much will the Galaxy A6 cost in the UK.

Originally announced in early May alongside the Galaxy A6 Plus, Samsung's new mid-ranger is meant to be an extremely value-oriented offering seeking to provide consumers with a contemporary Infinity Display experience on a budget. The South Korean already released the handset in certain European markets at approximately €309, which may translate to around £275 in the UK. Besides the 5.6-inch HD+ screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, the Galaxy A6 offers a 16-megapixel rear camera and another 16-megapixel sensor on the front. The former works in conjunction with an f/1.7 lens, whereas the latter is mounted behind an f/1.9 module, both of which should offer above-average performance compared to their direct rivals.

Samsung will be offering two variants of the Galaxy A6 in the UK; a base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space, and a more premium version with double the flash memory and 4GB of RAM. A microSD card slot with support for up to 256GB of extra storage is also part of the package, together with Samsung's custom implementation of Android 8.0 Oreo, a 3,000mAh battery, and NFC capabilities. The Galaxy A6 uses Samsung's own Exynos 7870 system-on-chip featuring eight 64-bit cores running at up to 1.6GHz.
