The Best Car Chargers You Can Buy - January 2019

A car charger is one of those things that just about everyone needs for their smartphone. Whether you want to keep your phone charged up, or use it while you are using Google Maps or Waze for directions, it's a great accessory to have in the car with you. There are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of car chargers out there. But which are the absolute best and the ones worth spending your hard earned money on? We've done the hardwork for you and found the absolute best.

All of the car chargers below are currently available and in-stock. Meaning that you can buy it right now (as of the date published), not a few days, weeks or months from now.

AUKEY Flush Fit Dual-Port Car Charger

This car charger from AUKEY is actually a really popular one for a number of reasons. Firstly, because it can fit flush into your car, making it look like your car has USB ports built-in. Which is a pretty cool thing. But it is also pretty cheap, coming in at under $10.

AUKEY has two USB ports on this car charger, each one can output up to 2.4A - about the speed of Quick Charge 2.0. It's not the fastest charging out there, but it's going to do its job pretty well.

You can pick up this car charger from Amazon using the link below, it is currently priced at $8.79.

Anker PowerDrive 2 Elite

Anker has a number of car chargers available as well, and this is one of the more popular models. This has two USB ports as well and uses Anker's PowerIQ technology. This will essentially talk to your phone to find out how much juice it can take, and give it that much. So you're getting fast charging, even if your phone doesn't technically support it.

The PowerDrive 2 Elite does also add a bit of flare to your car, since the ports are surrounded in an LED light. Now it's not bright, so it's not going to distract you while you're driving. But it does make this car charger look pretty unique, compared to the many others on the market right now.

The Anker PowerDrive 2 Elite is available from Amazon for just $11.99, and you can pick it up using the link below.

RAVPower Quick Charge 3.0, 4-Port Car Charger

This car charger is a bit more expensive than the others on the list, and that is because this supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0. Allowing you to get about 80-percent charge in just 30 minutes - even while in the car! As is the case with most Quick Charge chargers, only one port supports Quick Charge 3.0, and it is the green one. The others use RAVPower's iSmart for fast charging.

With four ports, everyone in the car is going to be able to charge their phone at the same time, which is definitely a good thing. However, it's worth mentioning that the more devices that are plugged in, the slower they will all charge. This is because the car can only give this charger a certain amount of juice, and sending it to four different devices means that some will get less than others.

The RAVPower Quick Charge 3.0, 4-Port Car Charger can be yours for just $15.99, using the Amazon link below.

AUKEY Dual-Port Quick Charge 3.0 Car Charger

The AUKEY Dual-Port Quick Charge 3.0 Car Charger is another good option, especially if you want something with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Unlike the RAVPower model above, this actually comes with two Quick Charge 3.0 ports. Meaning that both the driver and passenger can charge their smartphone quickly, and at the same time.

As always, Quick Charge 3.0 is backwards compatible, allowing you to use this with non-Quick Charge 3.0 smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy Note9.

This car charger from AUKEY is a great buy, and at just $19.99, it's worth buying. You can pick it up from Amazon using the link below.

Spigen Fast Car Charger

Keeping up with the Quick Charge 3.0 theme for now, Spigen enters the list. It has two USB ports, with one being a Quick Charge 3.0 compatible port. This car charger is popular because of its looks. It's pretty small and minimalist, so it doesn't take up a lot of space in your car, which is always good.

This car charger can charge both the driver and passenger's phone at the same time, which is a big reason why dual-port car chargers are so popular these days. The second port is able to do 2.4A, which is the speed non-Quick Charge 3.0 smartphones can handle. Making this a really good option.

The Spigen Fast Car Charger is available from Amazon for just $8.99, making it one of the cheapest on this list, and you can pick it up using the link below.

YI Car Charger

YI, a company you may recognize from its smart home products and action cameras, also has a car charger. This one is also pretty inexpensive and does also support Quick Charge 3.0. Allowing you to get around 80-percent charge in just 30 minutes - depending on the phone.

This one also has two ports, but like a few others on this list, only one of these ports is a Quick Charge 3.0 port. The other does 2.4A, which is still perfectly fine and will charge your phone faster than a conventional charger.

You can pick up the YI Car Charger from Amazon, it's just $8.99 and it is available through the link below.

Anker PowerDrive Speed+ 2

The Anker PowerDrive Speed+ 2 is an outlier on this list. It does not included Quick Charge 3.0, but it does have a USB-C port. This USB-C port is a Power Delivery port or USB-C PD. This means that you can get even faster quick charging, safer. But if that was not cool enough, you can also get enough juice to power up your laptop or Nintendo Switch from this port in the car. That is pretty insane.

In addition to the USB-C PD port, there is also a USB-A port that has PowerIQ support. As mentioned already, PowerIQ will talk to your phone to figure out how much juice it can handle and push that amount of juice to your phone. That way you are getting fast charging without destroying your phone.

The Anker PowerDrive Speed+ 2 is available on Amazon for $29.94, making it one of the more expensive car chargers on this list. You can pick it up from the link below.

Roav VIVA

As an added bonus, we have added the Roav VIVA to this list. This is another unique car charger, and it's from Anker's sub-brand Roav. This is a car charger with two USB-A ports, but that's not the special part about this charger. It also has Amazon Alexa built-in.

With Alexa built into the Roav VIVA, users are able to ask Alexa for directions, ask her to turn off the lights at home, read your messages and much more. All at the press of a button. Since Alexa is not always listening, and that's a good thing in the car. You do have to press the button on the Roav VIVA when you want to talk to Alexa.

it works by connecting to the Bluetooth connection on your smartphone, so it's using Alexa from your smartphone and is really nothing new other than a Bluetooth connection. It will connect to your phone and to the Bluetooth in your car, so that it can play audio over the speaker in your car. Allowing you to ask Alexa to play music and have her play it on the speakers in your car.

The Roav VIVA is available from Amazon for $39.99. Obviously this is more expensive than most other car chargers out there, but that's due to the Bluetooth being here. You can pick it up from Amazon using the link below.

Wrap Up

The car chargers on this list are mostly all around the $8-$15 price range, which is pretty inexpensive since the majority of them use Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. The AUKEY Flush Fit car charger is a very popular one because it's so small and fits quite nicely in any car.

There are some interesting car chargers on this list as well, including the Anker PowerDrive Speed+ 2, which is going to be a great option for those that do spend a lot of time in the car. And this is because it has USB-C PD for charging larger electronics like a laptop. If you have a laptop that uses USB-C for power, then it's a really good option. Imagine being able to use your laptop on a long road-trip and not worrying about running out of battery because you can just plug it in.

All of the options on this list are great, and it's also good to see that Quick Charge 3.0 and fast charging car chargers are coming down in price.

The product(s) above is in stock, at this price, at the time of publishing. We are not responsible if the retailer goes out of stock, or pulls the sale.
