UltraViolet Shutters on July 31

UltraViolet, the digital locker that holds your purchased movies and TV shows, will shutter on July 31.

If this is the first you're hearing of this, don't panic. According to UltraViolet, once July 31 comes, the majority of content you have stored will remain accessible via previously-linked retailers. If you haven't yet linked your account to a retailer, we recommend doing that now.

As the company puts it, "Linking your UltraViolet Library to additional retailers can maximize your access to your Library and help avoid potential disruption."

And that's basically it. Once July 31 comes, you'll still be able to make purchases and redeem codes, but the purchases may only be watchable via that select retailer and will not be added to your existing UltraViolet library.

RIP, UltraViolet.

Telenav Seeks Disruption With Free In-Car Services

Location-based solution provider Telenav is seeking to disrupt the in-car services industry with a new monetization platform designed to offer a variety of in-car services such as free navigation to consumers and monetize them through advertising. Originally announced at Las Vegas, Nevada-based Consumer Electronics Show in January, Telenav's offering is effectively targeted at bringing the ad-supported software business model that already proved its worth in the mobile industry to the in-vehicle tech segment. The company's internal studies and a number of independent surveys suggest the vast majority of consumers "would prefer free in-car services monetized through ads rather than pay for them" like they would traditionally, Telenav Executive Director of Strategy Ky Tang told AndroidHeadlines in an interview. Galaxy Tab S3 reveals specs at benchmarking website

We picked up on a rumor out of China earlier this week which claimed to reveal the Galaxy Tab S3 specifications . It was claimed that the upcoming tablet would be powered by an Exynos 7420 processor with 4GB RAM. We’re seeing a conflicting report today as the Galaxy Tab S3 has now been spotted on the benchmarking website GFXBench. As per the benchmark result, the Galaxy Tab S3 features a 9.6-inch display with 2,048×1536 pixel resolution and a 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood hooked up to 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It also reveals that the device could feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and may be running Android 7.0 Nougat from the get go. It’s pertinent to mention here that only the 9.6-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S3 has been spotted as far and it remains to be seen if its smaller sibling will make an apperance soon as well.
