Nokia 9 PureView Goes On Sale March 3, With Time-Limited $100 Discount

HMD Global has announced that the Nokia 9 PureView is going to be available this Sunday, March 3. It'll be priced at a special introductory price of $599 through March 10. Afterwards, it'll jump to $699.

The Nokia 9 PureView will be on sale at the usual retailers: Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo.

It will also be unlocked and work on GSM carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, unfortunately, there's no support for Verizon or Sprint.

At Mobile World Congress earlier this week, HMD Global announced the long rumored Nokia 9 PureView, which is the world's first penta-camera smartphone. The Nokia 9 PureView was a project that HMD Global worked with Light on, so that it can produce a pretty impressive smartphone camera experience. Thanks to this partnership, the Nokia 9 PureView is able to produce pictures that look almost as good as those from a DSLR.

There are five cameras on the back, but unlike other smartphones on the market, it is not using different focal lengths. These five sensors are identical other than the fact that three are color sensors and two are monochrome. Otherwise, these are all 12-megapixel f/1.8 sensors. The Nokia 9 PureView does use all five sensors on every single picture. So it's collecting a lot of data, but this allows the user to do a whole lot more after taking the shot. Like adjusting the focus point, and adding more Bokeh to the background.

Outside of the cameras, the Nokia 9 PureView is still a pretty decent powerhouse of a smartphone. It has a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ OLED display, and there's no notch at all. It also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset inside, which yes is older than the others on the market now. But HMD Global had to do a lot of critiquing with this chipset and the five cameras, so it makes sense that it's an older chipset, but still a very capable chipset. That also comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Nokia 9 PureView also runs on Android 9 Pie and is an Android One smartphone. Meaning that you are getting a stock version of Android - the only real change from AOSP is the camera. It also means that you are going to be getting some fast updates from HMD Global, which the company has shown it is capable of in the past few years.

Since this is an Android One smartphone, the Nokia 9 PureView also enjoys unlimited full-size photo backup to Google Photos.

As mentioned, the Nokia 9 PureView is going to be priced at $699 normally, but if you purchase the phone between March 3 and March 10, you're going to be able to take $100 off of the regular price. So that you can get this for $599. HMD Global is offering the Nokia 9 PureView in just one color - Blue. And it only comes in one configuration which includes the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

You can purchase the Nokia 9 PureView from Best Buy, Amazon and B&H Photo using the links down below. Remember that if you want to get this for just $599, you do need to purchase it before March 10 - or next Sunday.
