LEARN MORE What's new on Google Play • Improved security and privacy: expanding efforts on our vulnerability reward programs. • Unlock your creativity with Google Play Pass: express interest in participating in Play Pass, a subscription service offering users access to hundreds of apps and games, completely free of ads and in-app purchases. • Accelerate your launch with a pre-registration campaign: Panzerdog doubles retention and drives 3x conversion through pre-launch testing and Google Play Instant while Etermax drives almost 30% engagement lift with pre-registration milestone rewards. LAUNCH GOOGLE PLAY CONSOLE Google Play & Android deadlines November 1st: • Android targetSdkVersion: updates to apps and games on Google Play will be required to target Android 9 (API level 28) or higher. • Update your store listing videos: videos with YouTube monetization turned on will no longer be shown on Google Play. • In-app purchases: reminder that apps offering mechanisms to receive randomized virtual items from a purchase (i.e. "loot boxes") must clearly disclose the odds of receiving those items in advance of purchase. December 1st: • Google Play Developer API: versions 1 and 2 of this API will no longer be available. Please migrate to version 3 to avoid a disruption in service.
