Exclusive: Galaxy A01 Core specs, and yes, the battery is removable

We've been following the development of the SM-A013F for a while now. It's a new entry-level phone that Samsung has been working on. The company is expected to launch it as the Galaxy A01 Core.

Reliable sources have now revealed all of the Galaxy A01 Core's specifications to us. Earlier reports have suggested that the handset is going to have a removable battery. That is indeed true. The Galaxy A01 Core will bring back removable batteries for Samsung's entry-level handsets.

Samsung brings back removable batteries with the Galaxy A01 Core

The Galaxy A01 Core has a 5.3-inch 1480×720 pixel resolution PLS TFT LCD display with a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6739 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The specs make it pretty evident that this handset is a very basic entry-level device.

There's going to be a single 8-megapixel f.2/2 camera at the back and a 5-megapixel f/2.4 selfie camera. The handset does get a 3,000mAh removable battery which will certainly add to its appeal in this segment of the market. It's going to run on Android GO V10.0, an optimized version of the mobile OS for low-end devices.

Samsung obviously won't make a big deal about the launch of the Galaxy A01 Core. It will most likely be announced by way of a press release. Precisely when that's going to happen remains a mystery for now. However, given the pace at which the Galaxy A01 Core has been picking up certifications, it may not be long before it's launched.
