Galaxy Z Flip 5G support pages go up ahead of possible August 5 launch

Samsung's all set to hold a virtual Unpacked event on August 5 to unveil its new flagships for the second half of 2020. The Galaxy Note 20 series is more or less confirmed to be the main star of the show, and it's expected to be accompanied by the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. Samsung tends to start putting support pages for upcoming devices on its website a few weeks ahead of their announcement, and it has now done so for the least exciting product of the lot.

A support page for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G — model number SM-F707B — has gone live on the Samsung Hungary website and it lists three variants of the device. These are likely to be for the three colors Samsung will sell in Hungary, though there should be a total of four color options for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. As we had exclusively revealed, one of them is going to be a new copper finish that matches the copper version of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Buds Live, and the other three options will be purple, grey/silver, and black.

In addition to new colors, the Z Flip 5G will bring an important upgrade over its LTE cousin. Samsung has replaced the Z Flip's Snapdragon 855 with the Snapdragon 865 processor for the 5G model, which should help make up for the possibly smaller battery inside the Z Flip 5G and also enable faster performance. Nothing else about the Z Flip is expected to change for the 5G variant, and that includes the beautiful design.
