According to a report out of South Korea, it’s expected that Samsung’s QLED TVs will account for 10 percent of its entire TV shipments. This raises hopes that Samsung’s earnings from its TV business will improve in the near future.
It’s also claimed that more than half of QLED TV sales are accounted for by large-sized models with a screen size of 65-inch or more. This shows that many customers aren’t shying away from spending big money on a new TV. Industry tracker GfK’s data shows that 37 percent of all Samsung TVs sold in the first eight months of 2018 were priced at least $2,500.
Samsung is going to refresh its TV lineup at CES next year. It always launches its flagship TV models at the annual convention in Las Vegas. It will be interesting to see if the company can carry this momentum into 2018.
