Motorola has patented a solution for deformities in foldable phone displays

Despite the abundance headlines in recent times that may suggest only Samsung is working on foldable phones, Motorola is among one of the many others that are working on prototypes and has now been granted a patent that could fix any potential deformities.

Regardless of the flexible nature of OLED displays, folding them multiple times can ultimately lead to deformities in the flexible area of the panel. It goes without saying that Samsung is going to spend a lot of money on marketing to get the word out that its new flagship smartphone is the one you should be buying this year. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at an event in New York City today. Since it was an invite-only event, although it was streamed live online, Samsung decided to spend a lot of money to tell New Yorkers that the Galaxy S8 has arrived. Samsung illuminated the iconic Times Square in New York City with immersive displays reflective of the visual experience that the Galaxy S8′s Infinity Display promises. It basically bought out almost every available signage to announce the arrival of its newest flagship smartphone. As if that wasn’t enough, it even brought in a troupe of performers who danced “in celebration of the debut of the Galaxy S8.” Good stuff.
