Samsung Releases Jurassic World Themes For Some Devices

Samsung is getting in on the hype surrounding the launch of Universal Pictures' Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom by launching three entirely new themes for its Galaxy-branded devices. That means owners of those devices can now easily show off their love of the films – or just for dinosaurs – with custom elements for their home screen, lock screen, icons, dial pad, and more. As with nearly every theme available for those devices, the new Jurassic World themes can be found in the dedicated Galaxy Apps store. What's more, these latest themes are each complete free to download and use. The themes themselves are titled Teaser, Stampede, and Trex. One common element among those is the use of the logo and title for the new Jurassic World movie on devices with an always-on display (AOD). Beyond that, they each also use the same icons, which have a stony, "fossilized" aesthetic. Those keep the same basic shape and familiar design as the stock icons and the same look is applied to the lock screen's clock.

For Teaser, that iconic Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom logo is used throughout the entire theme, including the lock screen and home screen. Teaser also swaps out the ordinarily bright Samsung U.I. for more subtle dark grays and black colored elements. Those are accented by bright orange highlights. On the other hand, Stampede switches things up with a lock screen and home screen wallpaper that portrays the films two main protagonists running to escape from stampeding dinosaurs. Blues and greens are used as accent colors throughout the U.I. to keep everything consistent from the wallpaper image. Last but not least, Trex is exactly what its name implies. The wallpaper image is replaced with the movie's Tyrannosaurus Rex roaring as it stands over another carnivorous dinosaur, which has been pinned down underfoot. The colors used in that theme are more earthy, consisting of tans, browns, and greens.

Unlike many third-party launcher apps, which often require deep-dives into various settings menus, installing themes on Samsung's Galaxy devices is a relatively simple process. Searching the Galaxy Apps app for any of the abovementioned themes should return those near the top of the results. From there, users need to install the theme via the install button before applying it. The install button should swap out for an "apply" button once the theme is installed.
