Week 39 in review: Realme 2 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro debut

A couple of phones debuted this week, but you don't have to look further than our top 10 trending chart to know which one was more interesting - the Realme 2 Pro debut is easily the event of week 39.

Meanwhile Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which is hardly a great improvement over its predecessor. It does bring the notch trend to the Xiaomi Note lineup, so it has that going for it, we guess.

Meanwhile as an announcement-filled October is on our doorstep we are getting all sorts of teasers and leaks. OnePlus 6T, Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL as well as Nokia 7.1 all made headlines. We also got LG officially talking about the V40 ThinQ in what was half an announcement, half a teaser for next week's event.

We also got more details of the puzzle that are the iPhone XS and XS Max launch as those two hit their second wave of countries.

Check out the full list of popular stories to make sure you haven't missed anything.

The recipe of the Redmi Note 5 AI Dual Camera that is. The saner name alone is worth the upgrade.

The phone has a smaller notch than the Realme 2 and up to 128 GB internal storage.

The phone appears to have a protruding dual camera setup and two color options.

The flagship will retain the dedicated Google Assistant button.

The bigger phone sees three to four times the demand of the 5.8" device.

The event is slated to take place on October 17.

The phone will have a 3,700 mAh power cell, according to a leaked photo of the battery label.

The rest of the $1,099 base price is research and development, manufacturing, logistics, marketing, etc.

These look the most legitimate so far.

The phone appears fully-functioning and features a Surface Book-like hinge.

Five cameras in total confirmed. We also expect a new Carmine Red color.

It helps the company stand out in the oversaturated smartphone market.

The only noticeable difference is the new camera alignment.

Not that we're seeing anything new, but the authenticity of these renders are spot on. Some specs are also revealed about the devices.

The phone appeared briefly in the hands of Liu Jun, Lenovo VP, at TechWorld 2018 in Beijing.

HMD has an event scheduled for next week where one of these three will be unveiled.

Move over Galaxy Note9, the iPhone XS Max has the highest accuracy, brightness and lowest reflectivity.

The latest flagship from Huawei is not quite here, but here's what the phone probably looks like. The camera might also be able to switch to a wide mode.

The video was made by a blogger in Russia, where Pixel devices aren't officially available.

"Unlock The Future," says the tagline.

Insiders from the supply chain are using the slower early sales to predict lower than expected sales later this year.

The Pixel 3 still has a ways to go to catch up with its bigger sibling when it comes to amount of leaks.

Changes from to the Redmi Note 5 Pro include a notched screen and a dual selfie camera. But with less RAM/storage, we expected a lower price.

The live wallpapers bring new forms and colors, new rotating Earth, Moon, and Pluto.

Quite the reversal from the drop test we saw earlier this week.

A Find X with 10GB of RAM surfaced on TENAA.
