Galaxy S10 can now mirror notifications to your Windows PC

Last month, Microsoft started testing a new feature that allowed Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 owners to view their handset's notifications on their Windows PC — and now the firm has added support for the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S10. At least, that's the official statement. We tried setting it up on our Galaxy A70, which isn't on the list, and it worked just fine.

In order to take advantage of notification mirroring, you'll need a PC running build 1803 (RS4) of Windows 10 or newer with Your Phone installed, as well as a supported smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat or higher. You'll also need to have the latest version of Microsoft's Your Phone Companion application installed on your handset, which can be downloaded through the Google Play Store.

Phone Companion is far from a one-trick pony

Your Phone Companion bundles a slew of other features, including the facility to access media stored on your device. You won't have to connect to your PC using a wire, either; Your Phone companion links to the Your Phone App on your computer using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and uses a remote connection to retrieve files and mirror notifications in a timely manner — without a wire in sight.

Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. Samsung Display retains its leadership It's pertinent to mention here that Samsung's Q1 market share is 6.6 percentage points lower than it was in the same period last year. ARCore apps are now available for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China

Google's ARCore apps can now run on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China. The apps are available in the Xiaomi App Store through a partnership with Google. A tweet from the Google AR & VR Twitter account announced the news today, although the exact ARCore apps that are now compatible with the Mi Mix 2S were not named. Google did say in the tweet that more partners for ARCore are coming soon. The Mi Mix 2S is the first phone from the manufacturer to support ARCore. Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The issue — which our Cody Toombs aptly described as "like something changed in the Matrix" — is demonstrated in the video below: VIDEO Based on reports, a factory reset can't fix the problem, and it doesn't appear to be tied to any specific SKU.
