Twitter Begins Grouping Tweets Mentioning the Same Link Together

Twitter has made a change to its apps and website, grouping together tweets that are mentioning the same news link. This is in an effort to make news more prominent on the social media site, in its attempt to become more like a news site and less of a social media website. The way it'll show up now is, with the link at the top and the tweets mentioning that link below it. That way you can see who mentioned that link, but it'll only show tweets from people that you follow. So you won't be seeing tweets from every single person that mentioned the link, just those you follow.

In the past few years, Twitter has been focusing more on being a news website, instead of a social media website, and even has live news broadcasts from partners like Cheddar and Bloomberg. This was initially to keep users on the site longer, but it also adds more substance to the network and gives Twitter an identity. Users have always been able to share links to news articles and such, but now the site is making it easier to see these articles and read the articles. That is definitely a good thing for news publishers, as publishers are looking for ways to drive more traffic to their site, and Twitter is a big part of that push.

Twitter's move into news hasn't been all good, however. It has made plenty of mistakes along the way, which is not surprising, and it isn't just Twitter that has had this problem. But Twitter has done a good job at fixing these issues and making sure that they don't happen again, which is a good thing, as Twitter is showing it is learning from its mistakes. This new feature, where it is grouping tweets together below the link, is available on Android, iOS and Web right now, though it doesn't appear to be available for every single user right now.

Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. Samsung Display retains its leadership It's pertinent to mention here that Samsung's Q1 market share is 6.6 percentage points lower than it was in the same period last year. ARCore apps are now available for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China

Google's ARCore apps can now run on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China. The apps are available in the Xiaomi App Store through a partnership with Google. A tweet from the Google AR & VR Twitter account announced the news today, although the exact ARCore apps that are now compatible with the Mi Mix 2S were not named. Google did say in the tweet that more partners for ARCore are coming soon. The Mi Mix 2S is the first phone from the manufacturer to support ARCore. Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.
